A SHORT WALK

 

Throughout the centuries, humans have alternately welcomed the advent of spring with open hearts, embraced the summer season with joy or reluctance, acknowledged the arrival of autumn, and at times, found themselves subjected to the imposition of winter. Now, with winter having descended upon Skardu and a gentle snowfall initiating a wintry conflict in the mountains, the tangible effects of the cold are undoubtedly evident in the city of Skardu as well.

During both morning and evening, it becomes apparent that due consideration should be given to donning warm clothing and refraining from opting for lighter attire intended for the summer season. The sky has remained overcast for the past two or three days, devoid of rain or snow, with clouds stagnant in their position. The weather, transitioning gradually from a mix to a chill, has initiated a noticeable drop in temperature.

These photographs capture moments from the group stroll in the evening. Despite the meeting quorum not being met, with several members unable to attend due to their hectic schedules, three of us persevered in maintaining the tradition of the communal walk. We ventured towards the lush, green field situated on the slope behind the Jail Ghat (Skardu), where a sparse collection of trees and intermittent springs enhance the beauty of Skardu city. Such locales contribute to the charm of the city. Consider joining us for a walk here; it's a delightful place that promises both health and happiness.
