A
unique way of spending winter holidays was adopted in the low-lying area of
Halma Rangah in Skardu. Technically, a ground was prepared with a layer of hard
ice and the ground was prepared in the shape of a square instead of a triangle
or a circle. The meaning was clear: to create an atmosphere of interest for the
people so that they would come to the venue with enthusiasm and become part of
the audience for the hockey game. Unfortunately, the game that was to be played
today fell victim to a mutual brawl and the game was ended without any result.
In principle, the game should be played as a "game", leaving aside
emotions and fanaticism, and the only intention should be to have fun. But we
are an emotional nation that does not have a straight line. We are also
prisoners of "faith" and "linguistics" in the sports field.
How much better it would have been if the focus had been on the sporting aspect
rather than on faith and language.
Anyway,
man creates many excuses, ways and activities to pass the time and then enjoys
them. Such activities are essential to keep the winter holidays of Skardu city
alive and to divert the people's interests in a positive direction. However,
these activities should be free from "spices" of faith, language and
religion.
