Observe a unique educational institution where three individual
classes are housed within a single room, each catering to only one student.
This distinctive school boasts a total enrollment of merely three students, all
receiving instruction under the dual role of their teacher, who serves as both
headmaster and class instructor. Complementing this intimate learning
environment are a designated class teacher, an invigilator, and a school
director, contributing to the comprehensive support and guidance within the
institution. Situated in an exceptional location characterized by its
distinctive status, this school enjoys a setting free from the clamor of
vehicles and devoid of environmental pollution hazards. Transportation concerns
are alleviated, as one can conveniently reach the school by utilizing the W11
bus or simply walking, given the accessible nature of its surroundings. I am
referring to Nang Chuoq village (Organic Village), situated a mere 30-minute
walk from Skardu city. At first glance, it may seem like an organic village
worth exploring as a tourist, with the expectation of witnessing various
attractions. However, upon closer inspection, one discovers that the village
presents a stark contrast—there is, in fact, nothing substantial to see or
experience. Nestled in a confined space that is accessible only from one side
due to its narrow entry point, even the bravest domestic and foreign tourists
hesitate to venture into this secluded destination, as shared by the esteemed
teacher Hasan Sahib. Nevertheless, despite the lack of notable features and any
distinct attractions, what makes this place extraordinary is its ability to
captivate everyone's attention. Visitors, much like myself, journey to this
location seeking solace from the urban chaos. Here, they find respite by the
river that flows in front of the village, listening to the soothing rhythm of
its waters as they pass by, humming a tranquil melody. And indeed, this serene
experience unfolds just as one desires. The Organic Village is situated at the
confluence of two rivers, their expansive presence dominating the landscape.
These rivers, with their powerful currents and thunderous waves, evoke a sense
of awe and trepidation, stirring a palpable sense of awe-inspiring fear within
the human observer.
Consider a scenario where accessibility is severely limited,
leading to a dearth of educational opportunities. In such circumstances,
educational institutions are scarce, and this holds true for a small school in
this particular setting. This modest school accommodates only three students,
each attending separate classes within the confines of a single room.
Remarkably, the dreams harbored by these three children are notably ambitious.
Within the confines of three to five classrooms sharing the same
space, these students aspire to achieve remarkable positions. One of them
boldly declared, "I will become a doctor." This proclamation
exemplifies the unique spirit of this school—where dreams may seem constrained,
the aspirations of the students are remarkably lofty.
This marks our second visit to the Organic Village. The primary
objective of this visit was to conduct a thorough examination of the management
system of the community-operated school in the area. Through careful
observations, we have discerned a significant deficiency in educational
facilities within the Organic Village. It is imperative for the authorities to
initiate specific measures to address the educational needs of this community.
