Fostering Academic Synergy: Al-Mustafa International University Delegation Visits University of Baltistan, Skardu

Skardu (12 August, 2026) Mutual cooperation, exchange of ideas, and collaboration in modern disciplines among higher education institutions serve as fundamental pillars of educational progress in any society. In this context, a delegation from Al-Mustafa International University, Karachi, paid an official visit to the Office of the Advisor to Student Affairs at the University of Baltistan, Skardu, where they held a detailed meeting with the Advisor to Student Affairs, Dr. Muhammad Riaz. The primary objective of this significant meeting was to align academic and research understanding between the two institutions and pave the way for future joint scholarly endeavors.

The representative delegation from Al-Mustafa International University, Karachi, comprised the following members:

At the outset of the meeting, Dr. Muhammad Riaz warmly welcomed all members of the delegation to Skardu and particularly to the University of Baltistan. He unequivocally expressed that the arrival of such high-level academic delegations fosters intellectual and academic awareness in the region. During the meeting, comprehensive discussions took place on key academic and research matters, focusing primarily on the following areas:

Strengthening Academic and Research Understanding:

Both sides agreed that in the contemporary era, fostering mutual connections and academic harmony rather than working in isolation is a vital need of the time. In this regard, both institutions deliberated on various potential avenues of mutual cooperation.

Academic and Research Progress at the University of Baltistan:

Dr. Muhammad Riaz provided a detailed briefing to the delegation regarding the ongoing academic and research activities, the scientific and intellectual training of students, and the institutional expansion plans at the University of Baltistan. He shared that:

“Currently, 11 different departments are successfully performing their teaching and research duties at the University of Baltistan. Practical efforts and active measures are underway to establish new departments in the near future, keeping in view the region's agriculture, geography, culture, and modern scientific demands.”

Emphasis on the Need and Utility of Contemporary Sciences:

A prominent aspect of the meeting was the discussion on the significance of contemporary disciplines. Dr. Muhammad Riaz emphasized that in today's global context, equipping students with scientific, technological, and modern education is essential. He added that the goal of educational advancement cannot be realized without embracing modern research and interdisciplinary studies.

اعلیٰ تعلیمی  اداروں کے درمیان باہمی تعاون، خیالات کا تبادلہ اور جدید علوم میں اشتراکِ عمل کسی بھی معاشرے کی تعلیمی ترقی کا بنیادی ستون ہوتا ہے۔ اسی تناظر میں المصطفیٰ انٹرنیشنل یونیورسٹی کراچی کے ایک وفد نے بلتستان یونیورسٹی سکردو کے دفترِ مشیر امورِ طلبہ کا رسمی دورہ کیا اور مشیر امورِ طلبہ ڈاکٹر محمد ریاض سے تفصیلی ملاقات کی۔اس اہم ملاقات کا بنیادی مقصد دونوں تعلیمی اداروں کے مابین تعلیمی و تحقیقی مفاہمت کو ہم آہنگ کرنا اور مستقبل میں مشترکہ علمی کاوشوں کے لئے راہ ہموار کرنا تھا۔المصطفیٰ انٹرنیشنل یونیورسٹی کراچی کے نمائندہ وفد میں درج ذیل شخصیات شامل تھیں:

نشست کے آغاز میں مشیر امورِ طلبہ ڈاکٹر محمد ریاض نے وفد کے تمام ارکان کو سکردو میں اور خصوصاً بلتستان یونیورسٹی میں آمد پر گرم جوشی سے خوش آمدید کہا۔ انہوں نے واشگاف الفاظ میں اس بات کا اظہار کیا کہ ایسے اعلیٰ سطح کے تعلیمی وفود کی آمد خطے میں علمی و فکری بیداری کا باعث بنتی ہے۔ملاقات کے دوران نہایت سنجیدہ، تعلیمی اور تحقیقی اُمور پر جامع تبادلہ خیال کیا گیا۔ گفت و شنید کے دوران جن بنیادی نکات پر توجہ مرکوز کی گئی وہ درج ذیل ہیں:

علمی و تحقیقی مفاہمت کی استواری:

طرفین نے اس بات پر اتفاق کیا کہ عصرِ حاضر میں اعلیٰ تعلیمی اداروں کے درمیان الگ تھلگ کام کرنے کے بجائے آپسی روابط اور تعلیمی مفاہمت کو فروغ دینا وقت کی اہم ترین ضرورت ہے۔ اس ضمن میں دونوں اداروں نے باہمی تعاون کے مختلف ممکنہ شعبوں پر تبادلہ خیال کیا۔

بلتستان یونیورسٹی کی تعلیمی و تحقیقی پیش رفت:

ڈاکٹر محمد ریاض نے وفد کو بلتستان یونیورسٹی میں جاری علمی و تحقیقی سرگرمیوں، طالب علموں کی سائنسی و فکری تربیت اور ادارے کے توسیعی منصوبوں کے حوالے سے مفصل بریفنگ دی۔ انہوں نے بتایا کہ:

اس وقت بلتستان یونیورسٹی میں 11 مختلف شعبہ جات کامیابی کے ساتھ اپنے تدریسی و تحقیقی فرائض سرانجام دے رہے ہیں۔خطے کی زراعت، جغرافیہ، ثقافت اور معاصر سائنسی تقاضوں کو مدنظر رکھتے ہوئے مستقبل قریب میں مزید نئے شعبہ جات کے قیام کے لئے کوششیں اور عملی اقدامات کاوش سے جاری ہیں۔

عصری علوم کی ضرورت و افادیت پر زور:

ملاقات کا ایک اہم اور نمایاں پہلو عصری علوم کی افادیت پر گفتگو تھا۔ ڈاکٹر محمد ریاض نے اس بات پر زور دیا کہ موجودہ عالمی تناظر میں طلبہ و طالبات کو سائنسی، تکنیکی اور عصری علوم سے آراستہ کرنا انتہائی ناگزیر ہے۔ جدید تحقیق اور بین الرشتہ جاتی(Interdisciplinary) علوم کو اپنائے بغیر تعلیمی ترقی کا خواب شرمندہ تعبیر نہیں ہو سکتا۔

مستقبل کے اثرات اور حاصلِ کلام:

المصطفیٰ انٹرنیشنل یونیورسٹی کراچی کے اس وفد کا دورہ اوربلتستان یونیورسٹی  کے ساتھ ہونے والی یہ تفصیلی ملاقات آنے والے وقت میں دونوں اداروں کے مابین مضبوط تعلیمی اور تحقیقی تعلقات کے قیام کی طرف ایک مثبت پیش رفت ہے۔ اس قسم کی ملاقاتیں ناصرف طلبہ کی تعلیمی سمت کی درستگی کا باعث بنتی ہیں، بلکہ دونوں اداروں کو ایک دوسرے کے علمی تجارب سے مستفید ہونے کا موقع بھی فراہم کرتی ہیں۔
